Job Description
Director leading Boulevard’s data platform for appointment-based self-care business software. Building scalable infrastructure, governance, analytics products, and ML/AI capabilities while growing the data engineering organization.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines and infrastructure
- Partner with the insights, product management, and product engineering teams to power reporting dashboards, analytics features, and data-driven customer experiences
- Establish frameworks for data integrity, lineage, compliance, data governance, and quality
- Ensure data protection, access controls, regulatory compliance, and HIPAA compliance
- Provide foundations and standards for machine learning and AI capabilities
- Design and optimize real-time and batch data processing systems
- Enable seamless data flow between systems and external partners through integrations and APIs
- Define and execute Boulevard's long-term technical strategy for the data platform
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data platform engineers
- Drive architectural decisions for scalable data systems
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and operational practices for high availability and performance
- Align the data platform roadmap with business objectives and technical strategy
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in data platform engineering, distributed systems, or infrastructure engineering
- Deep expertise in building scalable data processing systems
- 5+ years of people management experience, including managing senior engineers and technical leads
- Proven track record of building data platforms and ML systems supporting internal analytics and customer-facing data products
- Experience delivering customer-facing reporting, dashboards, and analytics features with Product teams
- Strong experience with modern data stack technologies including dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, and Kafka
- Deep understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, and security best practices
- Strategic ability to translate business goals into technical roadmaps
