Job Description
Data Architect designing enterprise data models, taxonomies, and metadata standards for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Leading business architecture content and aligning data governance structures.
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical and physical enterprise data models
- Own taxonomy, reference models and metadata standards
- Lead Business Architecture content in the VA enterprise architecture repository
- Align data structures with enterprise architecture and governance policy
- Support proposed work for the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Information and Technology, Office of the Chief Data and Analytics Officer
- Occasional travel to Washington, DC
Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship required
- Able to obtain and keep a VA Tier 1 / Low Risk background investigation
- Complete VA privacy and security training
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of data architecture or enterprise architecture
- Knowledge of VA enterprise architecture tools (VEAR/VASI, System Architect) preferred
- Taxonomy and reference model development preferred
- Business architecture or process modeling preferred
