Job Description
Electrical Designer for Lightserve's Electrical Power Solutions, specializing in electrical systems and project management. Ensuring compliance, managing risks, and collaborating with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with estimating team for proposal stage evaluations and prepare associated proposal drawings and scopes of work.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation associated with electrical projects ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Prepare associated drawing and specifications.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders such as customers, vendors, AHJs, and others to ensure proper scope of work.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as estimators, project managers, and procurement to ensure scope of work is understood and is support of construction requirements.
- Responsible for designing electrical systems and performing calculations for review by others.
- Participate in reviews of other engineer’s work in the division.
- Some travel is required to meet with vendors, customers, and review project sites.
- Manage risk by identifying potential issues early on and developing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards throughout the construction process.
- Additional job duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- 4+ years electrical design experience in construction industry.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated ability to implement projects effectively while managing time constraints and resource allocation.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Analyze system requirements to ensure compliance with national and local codes, such as NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards.
- Experience with UL 891 Switchboards and UL 1008 Transfer Switches.
- Design and modeling lighting photometrics.
- Experience coordinating with utility requirements.
- Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations is required.
- Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.
