Job Description

Engineering Manager leading two infrastructure squads at Omada Health, which delivers virtual chronic-care services. Shipping production code, developing engineers, and owning delivery, operations, vendors, and audits.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead two squads building Omada’s Platform and Engineering Systems
  • Own squad priorities, sequencing, team growth, delivery, and roadmaps
  • Write production code every sprint alongside AI-powered engineers
  • Run iteration shaping, prioritization, backlog refinement, and initiative estimation
  • Manage, hire, and mentor engineers; initially lead 5 people and expand the teams
  • Own cycle time while maintaining or improving quality
  • Own operational health, including on-call rotations, MTTR, and post-incident analysis
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Design, IT, InfoSec, Legal, Compliance, Procurement, and other stakeholders
  • Manage millions of dollars in annual vendor budget and spending across AWS, Datadog, GitLab, and Anthropic contracts
  • Own annual internal and external audit controls and help develop automation and evidence-management processes
  • Escalate issues and provide recommendations based on engineering and product judgment

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in software engineering, including at least 2 years managing engineers, or equivalent experience leading delivery for a team you were accountable for
  • Track record shipping mission-critical software to production and owning post-production outcomes
  • Ability to build a roadmap, plan capacity, evaluate trade-offs, and negotiate with stakeholders
  • Experience owning team prioritization and estimation
  • Experience giving direct developmental feedback and managing underperformance with support
  • Currently or recently shipping production code in at least one stack layer: Multi-account AWS, self-managed continuous integration, Kubernetes, backend (Ruby, Python, ...), GitOps release management, or internal tools and services
  • Hands-on experience directing AI agents through real-world production changes
  • Understanding of CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and telemetry
  • Security mentality in everything designed and built
  • Excellent written communication
