Job Description
Field Service Technician repairing forklifts, lifts, and other construction equipment. Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in field or shop settings.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
- Service forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulate boom equipment used in construction
- Report directly to the Shop Service Manager
- Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly for proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles
- Troubleshoot operating errors and determine appropriate repairs
- Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
- Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure machines operate properly
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in a shop or field setting
- Automotive technicians with dealership experience are encouraged to apply
- Experience in forklift is recommended
- Must have own tools
- Driver's License (Required)
- Clean DMV record – will be checked
- Must be able to wear protective equipment such as goggles, face shield, gloves, and work apron
- Frequently involves heavy lifting, pulling up to 100 pounds, and working in awkward positions or beneath trucks
- Uses trade-type tools or hand tools
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
