Job Description
Forklift technician diagnosing and repairing forklifts, lifts, and construction equipment. Performing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance with company-provided van and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
- Service forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulate boom equipment used in construction
- Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly for proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles
- Troubleshoot operating errors and determine appropriate repairs
- Select the tools and equipment needed for each job
- Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
- Monitor gauges, dials, and indicators
- Report directly to the Shop service manager
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in a shop or field setting
- Automotive technicians with dealership experience are encouraged to apply
- Experience in forklift is recommended
- Must have own tools
- Must be able to wear protective equipment such as goggles, face shield, gloves, and work apron
- Frequently involves heavy lifting and pulling up to 100 pounds
- Driver's License required
- Clean DMV record will be checked
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Ability to use trade-type tools or hand tools
- Manual dexterity, near vision, multi-limb coordination, and control precision
