Job Description

Field Service Technician repairing forklifts, scissor lifts, and construction equipment for an equipment services company. Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in field settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulate boom equipment
  • Report directly to the Shop Service Manager
  • Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly for proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles
  • Troubleshoot operating errors and determine corrective actions
  • Select tools and equipment needed for repairs
  • Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
  • Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure proper operation

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience in a shop or field setting
  • Automotive technicians with dealership experience are encouraged to apply
  • Experience with forklifts is recommended
  • Driver's License (Required)
  • Clean DMV record — will be checked
  • Must have own tools
  • Ability to diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Ability to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Ability to dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
  • Ability to wear protective equipment such as goggles, face shields, gloves, and work aprons
  • Ability to frequently lift and pull up to 100 pounds and work in awkward positions or beneath trucks
  • Ability to use trade-type tools or hand tools
