Job Description
Full-Stack AI Automation Engineer building AI-powered workflows and custom software for a US-based AI consulting company. Integrating APIs, databases, dashboards and automation platforms for business clients.
Responsibilities:
- Translate client requirements and Statements of Work into practical AI and software solutions
- Analyse business problems and determine the best technical approach independently
- Build working prototypes and foundational solutions for later productionisation
- Develop AI-powered workflows that automate repetitive business processes
- Integrate software, platforms, databases and APIs
- Build front-end, back-end, database and dashboard components as required
- Use ChatGPT, Claude, automation platforms and LLMs to develop and improve solutions
- Work with Zapier, n8n, MCP and browser automation
- Connect or automate legacy and limited-API business systems
- Research new technologies and approaches as needed
- Test, troubleshoot and continuously improve functionality
- Document workflows, technical decisions, changes and processes for handover
- Build reusable solutions that can be adapted, repackaged or white-labelled
- Collaborate with Elliot, the wider consulting team and the client's senior technology partner
- Communicate clearly and remain responsive as requirements change
- Own projects from initial problem-solving through working prototype and handover
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in full-stack software engineering
- Strong exposure to building AI-powered applications, automations or workflows preferred
- Strong understanding of LLMs and practical experience using ChatGPT and Claude
- Experience building AI automation solutions for businesses or professional services companies
- Experience integrating software systems through APIs and other integration methods
- Experience with databases and back-end development
- Experience with front-end development and building functional dashboards or interfaces
- Experience with automation tools such as Zapier, n8n or similar platforms
- Experience with AI agents, AI skills, MCP servers or advanced AI workflows
- Experience using browser automation to connect or automate systems
- Comfortable working with MCP, browser automation or similar technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently research and find solutions
- Able to translate business requirements into technical solutions without step-by-step instructions
- Comfortable adapting to different technologies and client systems
- Strong attention to detail, testing and documentation
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to understand complex business requirements and communicate clearly with US-based stakeholders
- Strong ownership, integrity and accountability
- Able to work independently and collaborate effectively
- Comfortable working on multiple project types and adapting as requirements evolve
- Highly responsive, reliable and proactive in a fast-moving startup environment
- Practical technical test required during the hiring process
