Job Description

Global HVAC sourcing manager developing supplier strategy for Ferguson, a project-success distributor. Expanding suppliers, optimizing costs, and managing global supplier performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead category-level global sourcing strategy development and execution for HVAC
  • Develop and expand a global supply base to support Ferguson's product development and business growth needs
  • Lead supplier exploration, qualification, onboarding, diversification, contract negotiation, and execution
  • Optimize product total landing cost and lead cost savings and cost optimization projects
  • Implement global product development and sourcing projects and ensure successful execution of the product development pipeline
  • Support Business Unit integration projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Develop and optimize global sourcing and business operational processes
  • Lead supplier scorecard evaluations and supplier business reviews
  • Manage supplier performance and facilitate issue resolution
  • Ensure continuity of supply and collaborate with procurement and global supply chain teams on inventory optimization
  • Provide input into the annual budget and operate within the approved budget
  • Collaborate with Regional General Managers, sourcing managers, sourcing specialists, and teams across Category Management, Product Development, Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance & Accounting, Procurement, HR, and Legal

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of sourcing, product development, design/engineering, material and commodity management, or supply chain experience is preferred
  • HVAC equipment and accessories experience is a huge plus
  • CPSM Certification is preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Financial proficiency coupled with a technical mindset
  • Strong public speaking skills and ability to develop and deliver presentations to large groups
  • Ability to develop and grow relationships with external suppliers, internal peers, and functional teams
  • Strong knowledge of category-related products, manufacturing methods, and applications
  • Ability to travel globally, including North America, Central and South America, China, Southeast Asia, and India, 10–15%
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Power BI
  • Strong knowledge of the international manufacturing landscape and country strengths and weaknesses in applicable product categories
  • Knowledge of sustainability and awareness of sustainable sourcing practices and regulations related to HVAC products
  • Experience with industry standards, approvals, and certification processes
