Job Description
IDMS Mainframe Database Administrator managing databases with a focus on performance and security. Employee-owned federal contractor supporting national priority programs in IT and engineering fields.
Responsibilities:
- Manage IDMS databases, ensuring optimal performance, integrity, and security
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, including patch updates and configuration changes
- Develop and implement effective database backup and recovery strategies
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve database issues in a timely manner
- Monitor database performance and conduct tuning to optimize efficiency
- Work with application developers and system administrators to contribute to database design and system architecture
- Ensure databases comply with industry standards and security protocols
- Anticipate and plan for future database capacity requirements
- Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures
Requirements:
- 4+ years' experience as an IDMS Database Administrator
- Experience and certification with COBOL a plus
- DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret
- CompTIA Security + certification
