Job Description
Inpatient coder abstracting clinical records and maintaining coding accuracy for Tenet’s hospitals and healthcare services platform. Reviewing flagged cases, audits, and patient documentation remotely across the US.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately and productively code and abstract patient health documentation for Tenet facilities
- Review flagged cases in CARDS and RevInt for coding accuracy
- Assist in coding quality reviews, audits, and second-level reviews as needed
- Attend Tenet coding education sessions and maintain coding credentials
Requirements:
- Associates or higher-level degree in a Health Information Management discipline
- Successful completion of at least one AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) certified program; achievement of the correlating professional credential is preferred (RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS, etc.)
- 1-3 years inpatient coding experience
- Skilled and working knowledge of MS Office suite
- Strong technical background and electronic medical record experience
- A pre-employment coding proficiency assessment will be administered
