Job Description
Senior insurance expert leading the definition, collection, and assessment of insurance data at Forbes Advisor. Overseeing methodologies and data products for various insurance lines.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end strategy for insurance methodologies across lines (auto, home, renters, life, health, small business, specialty)
- Define excellence for our insurance assessment frameworks in terms of user value, defensibility, transparency and update cadence
- Shape the roadmap for proprietary insurance metrics
- Identify high-impact opportunities to replace or augment vendor data with proprietary collection and help design those research programs
- Set clear goals and quality standards for analysts working on insurance frameworks and data products
- Mentor team members on insurance concepts, risk thinking, and methodology best practices
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in insurance, with depth in at least one major line (auto, home, life, health, or small business)
- Strong understanding of how insurance products are designed, priced, and regulated
- Key drivers of customer experience and outcomes (claims handling, coverage design, exclusions, complaints, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience building or overseeing analytical frameworks: scoring models, risk models, rating systems, or structured evaluations
- Excellent communication skills, with a track record of translating complex insurance and regulatory concepts into clear language for non-experts
- Experience discussing complex insurance topics and breaking down findings for consumers
