Job Description
Senior Associate handling insurance defense litigation at a minority-owned firm. Seeking experienced attorney to manage cases and mentor junior staff based in New York.
Responsibilities:
- Lead case strategy and handle files independently including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and court appearances.
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, and other court filings with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintain strong communication with clients and claims professionals.
- Accurately track billable hours and ensure proper invoicing.
- Serve as a mentor for junior attorneys and paralegals.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Must be currently barred in New York.
- A minimum of five to eight years of experience in litigation, must include insurance defense.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume caseloads with autonomy.
- Experience appearing for mediation, arbitration, settlement conferences.
- Trial experience (second chair trial experience considered).
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and court filings with detail and accuracy.
- Experience conducting training or supervising junior attorneys.
