Job Description

Internal & External Communications Manager at Illumia enhancing corporate communications strategy and PR activities across various channels while collaborating with multiple teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage all public relations activities, including press releases, announcements, bylines, awards, media inquiries, and executive communications.
  • Serve as the primary owner of company’s end-to-end press release process and governance, partnering with an external PR agency responsible for drafting releases.
  • Lead internal review, editing, feedback consolidation, and approval workflows for all press releases, ensuring alignment with brand voice, messaging standards, legal requirements, and partner obligations.
  • Ensure final PR content is accurate, compliant, and ready for distribution and publication on corporate web properties.
  • Partner with Social Media and Brand teams to amplify PR announcements across owned channels.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, strategic alliance partners, and external PR agencies.
  • Maintain documentation and best practices for PR, internal communications, and sales enablement processes.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and best practices in internal and external communications.
  • Develop and distribute sales enablement communications tied to press releases, product announcements, partnerships, and company milestones.
  • Translate PR into clear, compelling internal-facing summaries, talking points, FAQs, and assets for Sales and client-facing teams.
  • Build and manage HubSpot content and sequences, when appropriate, to support sales enablement efforts and make it easy for Sales teams to share timely news with clients and prospects.
  • Lead internal communications initiatives that keep employees informed, aligned, and engaged with company news, announcements, and priorities.
  • Draft high-quality internal communications related to PR announcements, bylines, executive thought leadership, and company milestones.
  • Increase employee engagement with company content through internal campaigns, content sharing initiatives, and brand ambassadorship programs.
  • Support internal initiatives that strengthen culture, transparency, and connection across a distributed workforce.
  • Serve as a primary corporate writer for internal communications, sales enablement materials, social copy, executive messaging, and supporting content tied to PR.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in internal communications, external communications, public relations, or corporate communications.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven experience managing press releases and complex approval processes.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working cross‑functionally and communicating with senior leadership and executives.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in B2B, fintech, SaaS, technology, or higher education environments (preferred).
  • Experience supporting sales enablement or internal communications initiatives (preferred).
  • Experience building or supporting employee advocacy or brand ambassador programs (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Monday.com, HubSpot, SharePoint, etc. or similar tools (preferred).
