Job Description

IT Engineering Manager leading infrastructure engineering team in supporting Direct Market Technology platform at RRD. Responsibilities include overseeing technical execution, managing direct reports, and collaborating with executive leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of direct reports within the IT Engineering division
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on datacenter lifecycles, contract renewals, power footprint negotiation, and capacity expansions
  • Oversee and prioritize technical project execution, including infrastructure upgrades and legacy environment decommissionings
  • Ensure deliverables are on target with goals and adapt to organizational goals or direction changes
  • Control costs by managing internal resources and containing expenses
  • Develop processes for the production of management reports, statistics, and performance measures.
  • Establish an environment where staff learns to be self-sufficient and competent.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related engineering discipline, or equivalent professional work experience
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure engineering or cloud operations
  • Must demonstrate recent, proven experience heavily balancing daily management duties with direct, hands-on technical execution.
  • Extensive hands-on experience engineering, maintaining, and actively configuring Ubuntu environments, Puppet automation platforms, and bare-metal orchestration tools (MAAS)
  • Demonstrated hands-on background executing datacenter footprint migrations and directly engineering/managing virtualization boundaries (including OpenStack, LXD, KVM, and ESXi lifecycles).
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Active Directory management, enterprise certificate enrollment processes, and identity tooling.
  • Deep, hands-on familiarity with the intricacies of CEPH architecture and administration for long-term persistent storage.
  • Technical proficiency evaluating, planning, and actively managing physical/SAN storage equipment.
