Job Description
Junior Software Engineer developing software skills and confidence. Contributing to impactful projects within a supportive engineering team focused on good practices.
Responsibilities:
- Implement well-scoped tasks under guidance
- Write code that meets team standards for quality and testing
- Fix bugs and make incremental improvements
- Learn to work effectively with existing systems and tools
- Actively seek feedback and apply it
- Learn from code reviews, pairing, and design discussions
- Build understanding of the product and its users
- Develop good habits around testing, documentation, and version control
- Work closely with teammates and QA to understand quality expectations
- Communicate progress and blockers clearly
- Participate in team meetings and retrospectives
- Ask questions early rather than struggling in isolation
Requirements:
- Some experience with software development (commercial, academic, or personal projects)
- Basic understanding of at least one relevant programming language or stack
- Willingness to learn and take feedback
- Clear communication and a collaborative mindset
