Job Description
Junior Release Engineer for a remote gaming company, managing builds and coordinating releases. Focusing on mobile game production and quality assurance tasks in timeline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Review and assess client build requests to ensure completeness and adherence to internal standards.
- Collaborate with members of the engineering organization to prioritize build requests and align on release schedules.
- Coordinate with product managers, designers, and engineers to communicate release content and timelines.
- Maintain a forward-looking release calendar to ensure stakeholders have visibility on upcoming deliverables.
- Operate internal tools to generate client builds and asset patches for release.
- Conduct QA testing on builds and patches to identify and resolve bugs before release.
- Troubleshoot build-related issues and escalate to engineering when necessary.
- Validate that release processes are followed consistently and accurately.
- Maintain clear, accessible documentation for all release procedures.
- Recommend and implement improvements to release workflows and tooling.
- Track and report release metrics, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar field (software development or IT), a big plus if it was in mobile gaming!
- Hands-on experience with quality assurance processes and game testing
- Familiarity with Unity build tools and related release processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
