Job Description
Manager managing a team of 3-4 data engineers at Capital Blue Cross. Overseeing project workflows, quality, and technical guidance for data solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the assignment, workflow, and oversight process to ensure quality, consistency, and timeliness of deliverables from data engineers
- Create and maintain standards for data design, modeling, and deployment in Snowflake
- Provide direction and training to data engineers regarding foundational applications used in the development lifecycle
- Assess new data ingestion patterns to improve efficiency and timeliness of data availability
- Define data delivery strategy and monitor data release schedule
- Provide guidance to data analyst community on best practices for leveraging and querying new data assets
- Interpret business needs from requests, and rapidly implement effective technical solutions that meet long term objective of providing consistent data delivery across enterprise
- Create and maintain ETL Source to Target mapping documents, data playbooks, and data flow inventory documents
Requirements:
- 5+ years designing and implementing the data architecture (conceptual, logical, physical & dimensional models)
- 2+ years’ experience with cloud data infrastructure (preferably Azure)
- Ability to manage and lead technical team
- Strong Data Modeling and Design abilities
- Extensive knowledge of Snowflake, WhereScape Azure toolsets
- Knowledge of Healthcare data sets, industry standard data models and transmission formats (HL7, ANSI etc.)
- Experience with Master Data Management, Data Quality, Reference Data and other concepts, principles, and toolsets
- Clear concise communication skills and ability to distill complex information into business terms
