Job Description

Healthcare Instructor teaching online Health Information Management and medical coding courses at Bryan University. Supporting student engagement, feedback, records, and academic progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct assigned courses within the designated program
  • Host bi-weekly live sessions via Zoom in each course
  • Maintain a flexible schedule accommodating office hours and 1:1 meetings
  • Provide students with timely information and feedback on academic progress for quizzes, tests, homework, and projects
  • Conduct outreach to increase engagement with at-risk students
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student academic and attendance performance
  • Submit final grades according to university policy
  • Participate in meetings, training programs, and professional development as required
  • Remain current with developments in the instructional area
  • Perform other duties required by the faculty job description, SOPs, and university policies

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Medical Science or related field required
  • 3 years of Health Information Management, Coding or Revenue Cycle experience required
  • Coding certified required (CCS, CPC, CCS-P or related medical coding certification)
  • RHIA or RHIT preferred
  • Previous experience teaching online is preferred
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment using multiple software programs simultaneously, including MS Office programs, Canvas, and Zoom
