Job Description

Medical Science Liaison advancing Autolus’ CAR-T therapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases. Engaging healthcare stakeholders and supporting evidence generation, clinical trials, and patient access.

Responsibilities:

  • Scientifically engage, collaborate, and align with external stakeholders to improve patient access and outcomes
  • Establish, develop, maintain, and personalise long-term professional partnerships with healthcare professionals, medical experts, investigators, researchers, pharmacists, payers, and opinion leaders
  • Communicate appropriate scientific evidence to stakeholders
  • Partner with health systems to identify medical intelligence, data gaps, data generation opportunities, unmet needs, and opportunities
  • Support clinical trial processes, including site recommendations and Investigator relationship management
  • Respond to unsolicited information requests about marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely and compliant manner
  • Map external stakeholders and create personalised engagement strategies and plans
  • Use digital channels and lead scientific events, exchanges, and medical education
  • Contribute to patient journey mapping, launch excellence, evidence generation, product strategy, and medical strategy
  • Serve as the medical, clinical, and scientific expert for field colleagues
  • Mentor, guide, and provide formal field training to colleagues
  • Lead high-level and special projects and represent Autolus at regional and global meetings
  • Manage personal and professional development
  • Complete CRM, compliance training, expense reporting, and other administrative responsibilities
  • Adhere to company ethics, compliance, and external engagement policies
  • Travel 50% of the time, occasionally with short notice
  • Deliver KPIs related to field activities, planned activities, medical intelligence quality, and field medical excellence processes

Requirements:

  • Five years of MSL or relevant industry experience
  • CAR T launch experience
  • Extensive knowledge of hematologic malignancies
  • Solid business mentality, leadership skills, innovative and solution-oriented critical thinking
  • Proven history of process improvement and team building
  • Experience attaining customer insights and driving change
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Ability to work independently with little direction
  • Ability to adapt, organise, prioritise, and work collaboratively in multifunctional teams
  • Strong personal integrity
  • Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical degree
  • Pharm.D., PhD, Doctor of Nursing Practice, APP, or other terminal degree in health/life sciences preferred
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing with a minimum of 5 years experience in patient care and/or clinical research focused on hematologic malignancies, combined with 5 years of relevant industry experience focused on CART therapies acceptable
  • Ability to leverage technology, digital, and IT solutions for stakeholder mapping and medical intelligence gathering
  • Deep knowledge of CAR-T therapy
  • Awareness of pharmaceutical research procedures and guidelines
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Process mapping and analytical problem solving
  • Proficiency communicating plans and progress to different audiences
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and project management software
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time, occasionally with short notice
