Job Description
Renal Medical Science Liaison supporting AstraZeneca’s innovative pharmaceutical therapies. Engaging healthcare experts, presenting clinical data, and advancing renal patient outcomes across NYC.
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca’s renal marketed products, new indications, and compounds in development
- Engage in scientific exchange with targeted Key Opinion Leaders, Key Decision Makers, and Healthcare Professionals
- Identify and engage key customers using scientific expertise and business knowledge
- Develop peer-level relationships with Key Decision Makers, Healthcare Professionals, and researchers
- Identify pre-clinical, clinical, and post-marketing study investigators
- Uncover barriers to optimal disease management and identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes
- Provide actionable information to internal stakeholders about the value and appropriate use of AstraZeneca products
- Respond to customer inquiries with focused and balanced clinical and scientific information
- Deliver clinical and scientific information that differentiates AstraZeneca products
- Follow internal standard processes and regulatory and compliance requirements
- Maintain expertise in disease-state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape
- Provide clinical support and deliver regional and national data presentations
- Lead and manage projects within the field medical team and therapeutic area
- Provide training, performance guidelines, and mentorship to others
Requirements:
- Advanced Clinical/Science Degree required, such as MD, PharmD, PhD, NP, or PA-C; BSN with extensive clinical experience may be considered
- 3 years of experience in a clinical or commercial setting
- Thorough understanding of the healthcare system landscape
- Established networks and clinical experience within the therapeutic area
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Expertise discussing scientific content and context with multiple audiences
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Excellent project management ability
- Thorough knowledge of the regulatory environment
- Ability to travel 50–70%
- Established experience delivering quality improvement initiatives is desirable
- 2+ years of Medical Science Liaison experience in the pharmaceutical industry is desirable
- Established track record of basic or clinical research is desirable
