Job Description

Microsoft Fabric & Power BI Consultant enhancing modern data and analytics environment for a not-for-profit. Leveraging data technologies to drive decision-making and support community-oriented outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and review the existing Microsoft Fabric environment and provide recommendations for optimisation and improvement.
  • Design, develop, and implement data ingestion, transformation, and modelling processes within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions that support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, prioritise, and deliver high-value business use cases.
  • Support the development of data architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
  • Integrate additional data sources into the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage Microsoft Copilot and AI capabilities within the data platform.
  • Provide technical guidance and strategic recommendations on Microsoft Fabric features, capabilities, and future roadmap opportunities.
  • Produce and maintain documentation including solution designs, data flows, and implementation approaches.
  • Support platform administration, optimisation activities, and knowledge transfer initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI development, dashboard creation, and reporting solutions.
  • Experience designing and implementing data engineering, ETL/ELT, and data modelling solutions.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with modern data platforms.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing, analytics, and reporting best practices.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Desirable Experience:
  • Experience with Azure Data Services.
  • Knowledge of Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and OneLake architectures.
  • Experience integrating Microsoft Copilot capabilities within analytics environments.
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled analytics and self-service reporting solutions.
  • Previous consulting or advisory experience.
