Job Description

Analyst for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research focused on Technology and Data for social impact. Building data pipelines and developing visual data interfaces for public management.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain data ingestion, processing, and integration pipelines from multiple sources (educational assessments, school management systems, and public databases such as the School Census and INEP).
  • Model relational databases and analytical structures that support efficient, scalable queries.
  • Automate routines for data updating, validation, and quality checks.
  • Develop and maintain panels, dashboards, and data visualization interfaces for use by education secretariat managers and internal teams.
  • Translate analytical needs of non-technical users into clear, intuitive visualization solutions.
  • Iterate on data access and navigation features based on user feedback.
  • Work closely with the technology team to define data architecture and system integrations.
  • Document technical processes, database structures, and indicator logic to ensure maintainability and continuity.
  • Support the specification of technical requirements for new analytical features with vendors or the development team.
  • Produce exploratory analyses and indicators to inform studies and reports for the monitoring, evaluation, and research (MER) area.
  • Support the methodological validation of predictive models and learning indicators.
  • Provide technical support to users of data tools, including training and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems, Economics, or related fields.
  • Experience in data engineering or data analysis, including SQL and relational database modeling.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language for data processing (Python or R).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau, or visualization libraries in Python/R).
  • Knowledge of best practices for organizing and documenting data pipelines.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with API integration and automation of data flows (ETL/ELT) is a plus.
  • Experience developing dashboards or simple web applications (e.g., Streamlit, Shiny, or lightweight front-end frameworks) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Brazilian educational data (School Census, SAEB, state assessments) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and code versioning (Git) is a plus.
  • Interest in or prior experience in the education sector or social impact is a plus.
