Job Description
Paralegal facilitating litigation support for Pacific Legal Foundation's mission-driven work. Ensuring organization and detail in legal processes to defend individual liberty.
Responsibilities:
- supporting trial preparation and litigation logistics
- managing e-filing in state and federal courts
- preparing, updating, and maintaining Tables of Authorities and other legal documents
- conducting legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis
- supporting e-discovery efforts and working within PLF’s e-discovery platform
- drafting, formatting, and organizing documents using Microsoft Word (heavy use)
- taking ownership of assigned tasks and seeing them through independently
- traveling occasionally, as needed, on a case-by-case basis (approximately 5–10%)
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience as a paralegal or in a litigation support role
- highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- comfortable working independently without constant oversight
- pride in accuracy, ethics, and professionalism
- adaptable to new tools, systems, and workflows
- comfortable supporting multiple attorneys and managing competing priorities
- energized by supporting mission-driven litigation that defends individual liberty
- paralegal certificate is a plus, but not required
