Job Description
Patient Access Representative scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and supporting patients remotely. Serving U.S. Urology Partners, an independent provider of urology and specialty services.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Facilitate general appointment and escalation appointment scheduling
- Register new patients
- Review and update demographics for existing patients
- Verify insurance information
- Answer general patient questions
- Prepare patient messages for providers, triage, surgical scheduling and other internal departments
- Greet patients promptly, courteously and helpfully
- Handle inbound calls for a high-volume practice while working remotely
- Document patient requests and concerns accurately in EPIC EMR
- Resolve patient inquiries and concerns
- Escalate emergent concerns appropriately and in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- One year of experience working in a medical practice or in a health insurance organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior use of EMR systems preferred
- Strong self-management skills in a remote work environment
- Professional and positive interaction with patients, colleagues, managers and executive team
- High degree of maturity, integrity, loyalty and creativity
- Strict confidentiality and HIPPA compliance
- Thorough knowledge of computer information systems
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram or schedule instructions
