Job Description
Platform Engineer II automating cloud infrastructure and developer tooling for Bestow’s life-insurance technology platform. Improving reliability, observability, CI/CD, and DevOps productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Automate cloud resources and infrastructure as code
- Implement developer tooling and improve product manageability
- Define technical designs and implement work independently
- Collaborate with Platform Engineers on cloud foundation projects
- Work with Product Engineering teams on team-specific tooling and automation needs
- Route infrastructure modifications through code review and execute them via CI tools
- Automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
- Administer Kubernetes, Pulumi Cloud, ArgoCD, CircleCI, and PostgreSQL
- Contribute to projects in TypeScript, Python, Go, or Bash
- Design and implement continuous integration, continuous delivery, and DevOps productivity solutions
- Identify observability and configurability gaps with product engineers and make code-level improvements
- Create tooling to improve developer experience
- Manage incident-response runbooks and measure operational performance
- Participate in a primary weekly on-call rotation
- Respond to platform incidents and perform blameless root-cause analysis
Requirements:
- Proficiency with GCP or other cloud platforms
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
- Experience using AI-powered coding assistants or agents, such as Claude Code
- Familiarity with TypeScript, Go, or similar languages
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
- Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Git and GitHub
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Must be eligible to work in the United States; Bestow uses E-Verify
- Must reside in one of the contiguous 48 United States
