Job Description
Senior Web Platform Developer building scalable web platforms for Dexcom’s continuous glucose monitoring products. Leading architecture, cloud delivery, CI/CD, and technical mentoring.
Responsibilities:
- Build digital experiences behind Dexcom.com and Stelo.com
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and services using Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Develop event-driven architectures and integrations
- Shape technical designs and engineering standards
- Balance business needs with maintainability, security, and reliability
- Mentor engineers and provide constructive code reviews
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment practices
- Develop and support cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform
- Partner with Marketing and other business teams to clarify requirements and evaluate trade-offs
- Collaborate with engineers across North America and overseas teams
- Work with platform vendors to resolve issues and improve service quality
- Contribute to planning and delivery, identify risks, and follow through on production issues and preventive improvements
- Maintain clear technical documentation
- Serve as an individual contributor without direct reports
Requirements:
- Seven or more years of experience developing and delivering production software
- At least three years providing technical leadership or mentoring engineers
- Strong proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Proficiency in both Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience designing and working with event-driven architectures
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with a major cloud platform such as GCP or AWS
- Experience collaborating with geographically distributed engineering teams
- Strong communication skills and experience working directly with non-technical business stakeholders
- Sound problem-solving skills, independent judgment, and ownership of work from implementation through production
- Experience using Jira or a similar tool
- Experience with React, Node.js, Django, or Flask
- Experience with cloud services such as Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager, or comparable AWS services
- Experience with automated testing, application security, dependency scanning, and secrets management
- Experience developing software in healthcare, medical-device, or other regulated environments
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 5-8 years related experience, or Master’s degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience, or PhD and 0-2 years experience
