Job Description
Product Tech Lead at OpenProject building open source project management software. Overseeing end-to-end product initiatives and collaborating across teams in a remote-first environment.
Responsibilities:
- Own new product initiatives end-to-end from problem definition to launch
- Shape the roadmap, evaluate and prioritize ideas
- Bridge disciplines: think like a product manager, act like an engineer
- Build quick prototypes and work closely with engineers and stakeholders
- Communicate clearly and proactively in a remote-first environment
- Collaborate across functions: align with Sales, Marketing, UX/UI, QA, and leadership
Requirements:
- Proven experience building and launching digital products end-to-end
- Strong product mindset
- Senior-level experience in software engineering, ideally with Ruby on Rails
- Experience applying product management methodologies such as agile, user research, design thinking, or rapid prototyping
- Ability to quickly prototype ideas and collaborate with developers
- Strong written communication skills in English
- Ideally fluent in German
- Leadership that fosters psychological safety and constructive challenge
