Job Description
Program Manager selling KY-MEP consulting and training services to Kentucky manufacturers. Driving client engagement, proposals, sales growth, and manufacturing improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive scopes of work based on client reviews, observations, and discussions to deliver customized KY-MEP solutions
- Identify, evaluate, and implement expansion activities aligned with innovation and sustainable revenue growth
- Uncover and eliminate non-value-added activities from operations using proven and innovative approaches
- Independently organize work and maintain focus to advance KY-MEP’s mission of empowering manufacturers
- Organize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and follow up to ensure successful implementation of consulting and training programs
- Evaluate data and information to develop solutions for manufacturing challenges in growth, automation, workforce, and operations
- Collaborate by serving, leading, mentoring, and following others to advance KY-MEP processes, programs, and client outcomes
- Build trust-based relationships with manufacturing clients, employees, colleagues, management, and vendors
- Deliver quality programming while cultivating meaningful client trust and interactions
- Lead and track sales activities, coordinate student workers in marketing support, and collaborate cross-functionally with partners
- Collaborate with program leads, university departments, and external partners to support KY-MEP goals and initiatives
- Cover territorial efforts across Kentucky to engage and serve the state's manufacturing community by developing and selling consulting and training services
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight (8) years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years’ experience as an outreach/direct sales representative in a B2B environment
- Demonstrated experience interacting with all levels of leaders within a manufacturing facility
- Experience in the full sales process; initial cold call through executed agreement
- Proven track record of growing sales from direct involvement
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experienced setting and managing Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for success
- Extensive instate vehicle travel
- Ability to stay overnight as needed
- Experience with a manufacturing-centric organization such as the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) or similar
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tool
- Experience working out of a remote office
- Working knowledge of marketing and outreach techniques and best practices
