Job Description

Join Coconut as a Quality Assurance Specialist ensuring product quality through testing and collaboration. Engage in manual and automated testing across platforms in a supportive remote environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist role involves designing, executing, and maintaining test plans and scripts.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing cycles.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to ensure quality throughout the development process.
  • Advocate for quality from requirements gathering to post-release monitoring.
  • Document defects and recommend improvements to QA processes and strategies.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of hands-on QA experience with a strong understanding of software testing, test case creation, and defect management.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments, including familiarity with SDLC and QA tools like Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly document bugs, collaborate with developers, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Design, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts across web, mobile, and/or backend systems.
  • Perform manual and, where applicable, automated testing across functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing cycles.
  • Identify edge cases, usability issues, and defects beyond the obvious through thorough and intuitive testing.
  • Test from multiple perspectives, including the end user, QA engineer, and product owner, to ensure a high-quality release.
  • Document defects clearly with enough detail for developers to reproduce and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers throughout the sprint and release cycle.
  • Advocate for quality throughout the entire development process, from requirements gathering to post-release monitoring.
  • Own the end-to-end testing process for assigned features and ensure every release meets a high standard of quality.
  • Recommend improvements to QA processes, testing strategies, and tooling to continuously improve product quality.
  • Good to have: Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. Familiarity with API testing tools, including Postman. Experience working in a startup or fast-paced product environment.
