Job Description
SAP Technical Lead driving SAP technical governance and solutions for e.l.f. Beauty's global landscape following S/4HANA implementation. Leading a high-performing SAP team in India.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a hybrid team of internal ABAP developers and vendor technical consultants, fostering a culture of high performance and professional growth.
- Plan, prioritize, and oversee technical deliverables for our S/4HANA Cloud environment, ensuring seamless execution across implementations, upgrades, and support.
- Serve as the primary advocate for a "Clean Core" strategy, ensuring all extensions follow modern SAP best practices to keep our landscape lean and upgradable.
- Collaborate closely with functional leads (RTR, OTC, PTP, and Planning) and IT stakeholders to align technical architectures with global business objectives.
- Remain actively engaged in technical delivery, including hands-on coding, debugging, performance optimization, and resolving complex architectural challenges.
- Review and approve technical specifications, code, and documentation to ensure high quality and strict alignment with established SAP development standards.
- Lead the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process and release management protocols to ensure stable and governed deployments.
- Proactively research and pilot emerging SAP technologies, such as SAP Build, Generative AI (Joule), and advanced Analytics, to drive business value.
- Design and develop modern applications using ABAP on HANA, SAP UI5/Fiori, and ABAP on Cloud extensions within the SAP BTP environment.
- Apply Agile/Scrum methodologies to manage development sprints, balancing multiple technical priorities and stakeholder expectations simultaneously.
- Provide technical insights into the long-term SAP roadmap, identifying opportunities to replace legacy custom code with standard next-generation features.
- Communicate development status, risks, and innovation opportunities clearly and regularly to leadership and key global stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Over 12 years of hands-on experience in SAP development, with at least 3 years specifically in a technical leadership or architectural role.
- Expertise in S/4HANA with deep proficiency in the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and Core Data Services (CDS).
- Advanced skills in SAP Fiori and UI5 development, specifically utilizing Business Application Studio (BAS) on SAP BTP for UX design and extensions.
- Strong command of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for building and managing side-by-side extensions and cloud-native applications.
- Solid conceptual understanding of SAP Integration Suite (CPI) to guide integration best practices between S/4HANA and external systems.
- Deep experience in performance tuning and optimization within HANA environments to ensure system health and efficiency.
- Demonstrated "Growth Mindset" with a track record of self-driven learning and successful implementation of emerging SAP tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on complex tasks while collaborating effectively with global teams.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical architectures into clear, actionable insights for functional teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum tools such as JIRA and Confluence to manage structured development activities.
- Working knowledge of SAP-specific development methodologies, including SDLC, OSS incident handling, and notes implementation.
- Strong teamwork and initiative, with the ability to engage across different time zones and cross-functional communities to achieve project goals.
