Job Description
Security Awareness Specialist developing and managing security awareness programs for employees. Collaborating across departments to enhance Cybersecurity culture and mitigate human-factor risks.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and manages organization‑wide security awareness programs.
- Build and deliver security awareness training for diverse employee groups.
- Create engaging content (presentations, videos, newsletters, interactive modules).
- Run phishing simulations and track results to improve user behavior.
- Measure program effectiveness and report on improvements.
- Apply cybersecurity best practices, risk mitigation, behavioral change, and social engineering prevention techniques.
- Conduct onboarding and recurring training sessions.
- Present emerging threats and best practices.
- Partner with IT Security and HR to embed security into the employee lifecycle.
- Communicate policies and updates clearly across all levels.
- Stay current on cybersecurity trends and threats.
- Review incidents to identify training gaps.
- Work with Security Operations to address human-factor risks.
- Advise employees on reporting suspicious activity.
- Partner across departments to align awareness efforts with business needs.
- Gather feedback to refine programs.
- Support compliance-driven training requirements.
- Help develop security policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, IT, Communications, or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing awareness programs and phishing simulations.
- Strong analytical skills and report development.
- Proficiency with awareness tools/platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives.
- Ability to tailor training to different audiences.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improving user engagement.
- Experience with KnowBe4, Proofpoint, or similar tools (preferred).
- Background in instructional design/adult learning (preferred).
- Excel skills for tracking and reporting metrics (preferred).
