Job Description

Security Captain supervising personnel and protective operations at NMS’s remote Alpine oil field. Managing incidents, emergency response, client coordination, and rotational camp operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and operational support for security services at the Alpine oil field
  • Assign security personnel to posts and patrols and ensure staffing coverage
  • Supervise daily security operations and enforce client requirements, company policies, post orders, and procedures
  • Interpret and enforce security policies, procedures, and contractual requirements
  • Document business processes, staffing needs, and operational requirements
  • Prepare employee work schedules and review leave requests
  • Maintain communication with clients to address security concerns and improve service delivery
  • Review, investigate, and resolve incident reports, irregularity reports, and operational documentation
  • Maintain administrative records, reports, and business documentation
  • Conduct and oversee security investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Review property damage, unusual occurrence, safety, and security reports
  • Coordinate with client representatives, law enforcement, emergency responders, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Develop, review, update, and maintain post orders, emergency procedures, and operational documentation
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to issues outside normal working hours
  • Serve as Incident Commander or within the Incident Command System during emergencies
  • Provide transportation using passenger vehicles, buses, and off-road vehicles
  • Provide emergency medical response, including CPR, AED use, basic first aid, and patient movement
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment deficiencies, and sanitation concerns and ensure corrective actions
  • Mentor, coach, and develop security personnel
  • Perform other duties supporting departmental and operational objectives

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Completion of at least two (2) years of post-secondary education is preferred
  • Candidates without post-secondary education must possess an additional two (2) years of directly related security, military, or law enforcement experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of full-time professional experience in security, law enforcement, or military service
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or leadership experience in a related field
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years
  • Ability to obtain an Alaska Guard License prior to employment
  • Must obtain and maintain a State of Alaska Armed Guard License upon hire
  • Ability to develop and deliver position-specific security training and conduct recurring security training
  • Working knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS)
  • Ability to qualify for required credentials and certifications, including TWIC and ATF Explosives Possessor authorization, as required by the contract
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and contract-specific software
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment requirements, potentially including hair follicle drug screening, physical examination, fit-for-duty assessment, and hearing test
  • Ability to reside in dormitory-style accommodations and comply with remote camp standards
  • Ability to lead teams, build positive working relationships, and communicate effectively with employees, clients, contractors, and public safety agencies
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions independently, particularly during emergencies and high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work a two (2) weeks on, two (2) weeks off rotational schedule
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to twelve (12) hours per shift and work in remote Arctic weather conditions
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English as required by the contract
  • Must comply with company and client safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Must lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and complete the specified fit-for-duty physical tests
