Job Description
Security Operations Intern role supporting security program development and documentation for a technology company. Collaborating with Security leadership to gain practical experience in governance, risk, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development and documentation of the security program during compliance and audit cycles
- Build and maintain security program documentation in Confluence, including SOPs and standards
- Translate security roadmap initiatives into audit-ready documentation
- Research security frameworks and regulatory requirements and develop decision trees
- Assist with compliance preparation, including organizing audit evidence and mapping controls
- Support infrastructure and security reviews through documentation and risk identification
- Collaborate closely with Security leadership and gain exposure to security program structure and maintenance.
Requirements:
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to analyze requirements and present clear, structured conclusions
- High attention to detail and comfort handling sensitive or confidential information
- Interest in security governance, risk, and compliance
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams
- Nice to have: Familiarity with security frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST
- Nice to have: Experience with Confluence or similar documentation tools
- Nice to have: Academic or personal interest in cybersecurity, risk management, or compliance.
