Job Description
Senior Business Intelligence Analyst modernizing FP&A analytics at Hitachi Vantara, a data infrastructure company. Building governed Power BI and Microsoft Fabric solutions while delivering executive financial insights and automation.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI solutions, including data models, semantic layers, and interactive dashboards
- Optimize Power BI performance through query folding, model size reduction, and DAX tuning
- Implement Microsoft Fabric components, including Direct Lake, Lakehouse, and semantic models
- Apply Medallion architecture principles across analytics solutions
- Collaborate with data engineering teams on ETL/ELT pipelines
- Validate data integrity using SQL and business rules
- Integrate financial, sales, and operational datasets into unified reporting environments
- Develop advanced DAX measures, KPIs, and business logic
- Establish and enforce BI development standards, governance frameworks, version control, and documentation
- Develop standardized financial reporting frameworks for forecasting, budgeting, and performance management
- Translate financial and operational data into executive-ready insights and recommendations
- Lead FP&A modernization through automation, workflow optimization, AI-assisted analytics, and Copilot capabilities
- Implement scalable reporting processes that improve accuracy, reduce cycle times, and enhance analytical consistency
- Partner with Finance and Operations leaders on requirements gathering, KPI definition, and analytical alignment
- Lead cross-functional analytics initiatives and manage scope, timelines, and deliverables
- Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions to improve organizational data literacy
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, FP&A analytics, or related fields
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, semantic model design, and performance optimization
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Direct Lake, Lakehouse, or modern data architecture
- Familiarity with Python for data transformation or automation
- Strong understanding of data modeling techniques, star schema design, and BI governance
- Strong understanding of financial statements
- Demonstrated experience analyzing revenue, margin, product/category performance, and operational KPIs
- Ability to translate analytical outputs into strategic business insights
- Ability to clearly communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership managing cross-functional initiatives
- Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects
