Job Description
Senior Data Engineer responsible for building real-time data capabilities and infrastructure at DraftKings. Collaborating with various teams to optimize data solutions and drive innovative AI experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Build scalable, high-performance data infrastructure
- Design and maintain real-time and batch data pipelines using Kafka, Databricks, and Snowflake
- Develop reliable data solutions for business-critical reporting and analytics
- Build AI-powered data experiences for data exploration and analysis
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into analytics-ready datasets
- Design and optimize modern data models (Star Schema, Data Vault)
- Drive best practices for data engineering and mentor teammates
- Collaborate in an agile environment to support evolving business needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platforms and distributed data systems
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, and cloud-based data platforms
- Familiarity with AWS and DevOps tools (Terraform, PagerDuty, Datadog)
- Understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, ETL frameworks, and data modeling techniques
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- Proficient with AI-assisted engineering tools (Claude Code, Codex)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
