Job Description
Senior Data Engineer designing secure data architectures and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines. Supporting cloud migrations, governance, and batch and real-time analytics processing.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design of scalable and secure data solutions aligned with business and technical needs
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources
- Analyze structured and unstructured data sources and recommend ingestion, processing, and classification strategies
- Assist in building a robust data layer supporting batch and real-time processing
- Implement data validation and cleansing strategies to ensure quality and governance compliance
- Write and optimize SQL queries for large datasets
- Support migrations from legacy systems to cloud platforms with accuracy and minimal downtime
- Monitor data workflows, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and propose improvements
- Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and business teams to translate requirements into data models
- Apply data governance and security best practices, including regulatory compliance such as GDPR
- Stay current on emerging tools and practices and contribute to team innovation
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
- Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and query optimization
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
- Solid understanding of batch and real-time data processing
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work across technical and business teams
