Job Description
Senior Data Engineer productionizing cyber-risk data products for Asian-market insurance brokers. Building Python/Airflow pipelines, PostgreSQL systems, and GraphQL data services in a remote LATAM team.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and productionize robust data pipelines using Python and Airflow
- Transform an existing Data Science proof of concept into a reliable, maintainable production solution
- Build and maintain data processing workflows, including scheduling, retries, validations, and regression checks
- Design efficient PostgreSQL schemas, queries, views, and data access patterns
- Build the data access layer using GraphQL and, over time, Hasura
- Collaborate with Data Scientists to integrate and operationalize NLP/LLM-based components
- Ensure reliable and consistent data delivery on a recurring cadence
- Work with AWS-based infrastructure, services, orchestration, storage, and connectivity
- Collaborate with SRE and Engineering teams on deployment and production-related needs
- Take ownership of technical decisions and independently drive work from requirements to production
Requirements:
- Strong professional experience in Data Engineering
- Advanced proficiency in Python, especially for data pipelines and data processing
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow in production environments
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database fundamentals
- Experience working with cloud environments, ideally AWS
- Basic DevOps knowledge and understanding of infrastructure, deployment, and connectivity concepts
- Experience with GraphQL, or a strong foundation to ramp up quickly
- Ability to work autonomously, make technical decisions, and take ownership of solutions
- Comfortable collaborating with Data Scientists and cross-functional technical teams
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and interest in using them in the development workflow
- English level B2 or higher, with effective communication in an international team
- Experience with Hasura, cybersecurity data, or data-as-a-product environments is a plus
