Job Description

Senior Data Engineer productionizing cyber-risk data products for Asian-market insurance brokers. Building Python/Airflow pipelines, PostgreSQL systems, and GraphQL data services in a remote LATAM team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and productionize robust data pipelines using Python and Airflow
  • Transform an existing Data Science proof of concept into a reliable, maintainable production solution
  • Build and maintain data processing workflows, including scheduling, retries, validations, and regression checks
  • Design efficient PostgreSQL schemas, queries, views, and data access patterns
  • Build the data access layer using GraphQL and, over time, Hasura
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to integrate and operationalize NLP/LLM-based components
  • Ensure reliable and consistent data delivery on a recurring cadence
  • Work with AWS-based infrastructure, services, orchestration, storage, and connectivity
  • Collaborate with SRE and Engineering teams on deployment and production-related needs
  • Take ownership of technical decisions and independently drive work from requirements to production

Requirements:

  • Strong professional experience in Data Engineering
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, especially for data pipelines and data processing
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow in production environments
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database fundamentals
  • Experience working with cloud environments, ideally AWS
  • Basic DevOps knowledge and understanding of infrastructure, deployment, and connectivity concepts
  • Experience with GraphQL, or a strong foundation to ramp up quickly
  • Ability to work autonomously, make technical decisions, and take ownership of solutions
  • Comfortable collaborating with Data Scientists and cross-functional technical teams
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and interest in using them in the development workflow
  • English level B2 or higher, with effective communication in an international team
  • Experience with Hasura, cybersecurity data, or data-as-a-product environments is a plus
