Job Description
Senior Data Engineer architecting secure, scalable data warehouses and lakes for Avenga’s global technology services. Leading complex data initiatives, governance, and technical teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and construction of large-scale data architectures
- Oversee and mentor junior engineers while driving technical excellence and setting team standards
- Solve complex data engineering problems and troubleshoot performance issues
- Ensure critical data infrastructure is scalable, secure, resilient, and efficient
- Liaise with senior leadership on data strategy and organizational needs
- Guide technical teams and influence architectural decisions
- Lead high-impact projects shaping organizational data infrastructure
- Develop long-term data architecture strategies and contribute to data governance initiatives
- Manage enterprise-level data systems and infrastructure
- Design and implement advanced data processing frameworks, scalable data warehouses, and data lakes
- Apply expertise in programming languages, Big Data technologies, distributed systems, cloud data platforms, and ETL/ELT patterns
Requirements:
- Extensive experience leading the design, implementation, and construction of complex data engineering solutions and large-scale data architectures
- Proven track record of leading high-impact projects shaping enterprise-level data infrastructure and developing long-term data architecture strategies
- Demonstrated experience contributing significantly to data governance and ensuring resilience and security of critical data infrastructure
- Expert proficiency in multiple programming languages and Big Data technologies
- Knowledge of Talend (mandatory)
- Deep expertise in distributed data systems, cloud data platforms, and advanced ETL/ELT patterns
- Proven capability to architect scalable data warehouses and data lakes and troubleshoot intricate system performance issues
- Strong AWS expertise
- Strong database expertise
- Scrum Master expertise would be beneficial
