Job Description
Senior Data Engineer building automated payments reporting and analytics for SPD Technology’s client. Designing cloud data pipelines, financial data models, and KPI dashboards for trusted variance analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the build of an automated payments reporting and analytics platform
- Design and build daily ELT pipelines integrating payment processors, CRM, and ERP data into a cloud data warehouse
- Automate financial reporting to the general ledger and ensure reconciliation with the reporting layer
- Build and maintain a data-mapping layer resolving customer identity across systems
- Model documented data marts supporting drill-down and variance analysis
- Deliver data models powering KPI and forecasting dashboards
- Implement pipeline monitoring, data-quality checks, alerting, and auditability
- Collaborate with BI, finance, and integration partners to define requirements and phased delivery
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional data engineering experience
- Track record of owning production data pipelines end to end
- Expert-level SQL, including complex analytical queries, window functions, query optimization, and dimensional/star-schema modeling
- Hands-on experience with a modern cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake or comparable platforms such as BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks
- Strong experience with dbt or an equivalent ELT transformation framework
- Experience building and scheduling ELT/ETL pipelines with Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or another workflow orchestrator
- Experience designing idempotent, re-runnable, incremental loads
- Experience implementing data-quality testing, monitoring, and alerting
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Ability to work directly with finance and business stakeholders and explain data-model decisions
- Payments, FinTech, or financial-services domain experience is a bonus
- Payment-processor integration experience is a bonus
- BI/analytics team and self-service reporting tool experience is a bonus
- Forecasting/cohort-based analytical model experience is a bonus
- Data contracts and governance experience is a bonus
