Job Description
Senior Data Scientist leading real-time prediction models for GRID’s esports data platform. Developing odds, betting-market logic, and production ML systems for CS2, Dota 2, and LoL.
Responsibilities:
- Lead research, design, and continuous improvement of core predictive models
- Design, build, and optimise machine learning models and statistical frameworks powering real-time odds and betting markets
- Extract predictive signals from raw, high-frequency esports telemetry
- Convert complex in-game mechanics into structured modelling features
- Optimise model performance and probability calibration
- Design rigorous backtesting frameworks to prevent data leakage
- Evaluate performance against historical market baselines
- Create mathematical rules and probabilistic derivations for handicaps, totals, player props, and other derivative markets
- Translate models into production-grade pipelines and microservices
- Bridge theoretical research and live product features
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in data science, quantitative research, or statistical modelling
- Deep, intuitive understanding of probability, statistics, and machine learning theory
- Expert-level skills in the Python data stack
- Ability to write clean, production-grade code
- Proven experience designing complex backtesting environments
- Experience defining custom evaluation metrics for unique business problems
- Nice to have: deep knowledge of competitive esports, including CS2, Dota 2, and LoL
- Nice to have: experience modeling streaming or continuously updating data
- Nice to have: understanding of modern MLOps principles
- Nice to have: experience with MLFlow, Airflow, and similar tools
