Job Description
Senior DevOps Engineer building the next generation of mission planning software for space communications programs. Joining Sphinx Defense's team focused on modern, resilient services for the US Government.
Responsibilities:
- Build the development and deployment infrastructure used by the Space Communications team
- Develop and operate automated build and deployment infrastructure in GitLab CI/CD and Atlantis
- Write and maintain Cloud Infrastructure
- Own technical problems end-to-end
- Maintain multiple Kubernetes clusters in production
- Package software into Helm Charts
- Write and maintain Cloud Infrastructure with Terraform
- Configure and maintain a federated message bus infrastructure
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Support software engineering teams with the use and integration of pipelines and cloud infrastructure
Requirements:
- 5+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience in a DevOps role
- Leveraged a major cloud provider's (AWS, Azure, GCP) services in a production setting
- A habit of self-directed learning of new technologies
- Strong experience with either Python or Go
- Strong experience with Ansible automation
- Ability to see through the noise to the most critical problem
- Ability to provide technical leadership, guide, and mentor junior engineers
- Excellent communication skills, working with end-users to design and build solutions to their needs
