Job Description
Senior Front-End Engineer specializing in React to deliver scalable front-end applications for ParcelHero's innovative parcel delivery system. Taking ownership of coding standards and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities:
- You will take ownership of designing and delivering scalable, maintainable, and performant front-end applications.
- Beyond coding, you’ll set best practices, mentor junior engineers, and work closely with design, product, and back-end teams to deliver seamless experiences.
- You’ll play a key role in evolving the front end of an established SaaS product used by real customers.
- Influence architectural decisions and tooling choices.
- Opportunities to progress as the team scales.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional front-end development experience, with at least 5 years focused on React in large-scale applications.
- Track record of building and deploying production-grade React applications.
- Experience mentoring developers and contributing to engineering culture.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience).
- Expert in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
- Deep expertise with React (hooks, context, state management, component architecture, performance optimisation).
- Strong knowledge of CSS and responsive design principles.
- Proficient in accessibility (WCAG standards) and cross-browser compatibility.
- Testing experience: unit, integration, and end-to-end.
