Job Description
Senior Front-End Engineer specializing in React for ParcelHero, a parcel delivery price comparison site. Designing scalable front-end applications while mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Designing scalable front-end architectures
- Building reusable component libraries
- Implementing advanced state management
- Optimising performance for millions of users
- Mentor junior engineers and work closely with design, product, and back-end teams to deliver seamless experiences
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional front-end development experience, with at least 5 years focused on React in large-scale applications
- Expert in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
- Deep expertise with React (hooks, context, state management, component architecture, performance optimisation)
- Strong knowledge of CSS and responsive design principles
- Proficient in accessibility (WCAG standards) and cross-browser compatibility
- Testing experience: unit, integration, and end-to-end
- Experience mentoring developers and contributing to engineering culture
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience)
