Job Description
Senior Infrastructure Engineer owning Citrix and other VDI platforms for IT services clients across LATAM. Managing image lifecycles, incidents, automation, and enterprise VDI projects.
Responsibilities:
- Own the golden image and machine catalog lifecycle, including building, patching, testing, releasing, and clean rollback
- Troubleshoot session, profile, and application delivery issues, including logon duration, profile containers, printing, peripherals, and protocol performance
- Manage platform access layers, including gateways, brokers, certificates, and MFA integration
- Serve as technical lead during VDI-impacting incidents and drive resolution
- Right-size host pools and delivery groups using session and resource data
- Manage autoscale, power management, and cloud consumption
- Automate image builds, catalog updates, and health checks using scripting and platform APIs
- Write root cause analyses, execute structured change management, and maintain technical documentation
- Lead VDI project delivery including scoping, estimation, design, migration, and implementation
- Provide client status reporting and best-practice guidance
- Mentor junior engineers
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and service desk teams
- Work with a global network operations center handling first-line monitoring and triage
Requirements:
- 12+ years in infrastructure engineering
- At least 3 years focused on VDI or end-user computing platforms
- Fluent in English
- Hands-on ownership of at least one enterprise VDI platform at depth: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops or DaaS, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Omnissa Horizon
- Working familiarity with the other two VDI platforms
- Strong Windows Server and Windows client administration, including Group Policy, Intune, and profile management
- Working knowledge of compute, storage, and networking layers beneath VDI, including VMware vSphere or Azure, shared storage, load balancing, DNS, and certificates
- Automation ability using AI tooling, scripting such as PowerShell or an equivalent, and direct work against platform APIs
- Experience writing formal root cause analyses and working inside a structured change management process
- Clear client-facing communication and ability to work independently across multiple client environments
- Prior MSP or other multi-client experience, ideally supporting several customer environments at once
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Preferred: Citrix, Microsoft (AZ-140), Omnissa VDI, or comparable virtualization certification
- Preferred: Experience with application layering or packaging and GPU-backed or graphics-intensive workloads
- Preferred: Experience with VDI monitoring and analytics tooling such as Citrix Director, ControlUp, or Azure Monitor
