Job Description

Senior interior architectural drafter producing detailed, construction-ready drawing sets for complex interior projects. Coordinating millwork, finishes, construction details, and technical stakeholders remotely during U.S. Eastern Time hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of comprehensive interior architectural drawing sets
  • Produce detailed plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, schedules, and construction details
  • Develop drawings for custom millwork, cabinetry, paneling, built-ins, ceilings, stairs, fireplaces, doors, and specialty interior features
  • Prepare wall, floor, ceiling, and finish transitions
  • Document interior framing, blocking, substrates, attachment methods, clearances, and finish applications
  • Translate complex design concepts into technically sound and buildable solutions
  • Review architectural, structural, MEP, lighting, and vendor drawings for coordination with interior design
  • Identify constructability issues, drawing conflicts, and missing information before issuing drawings
  • Coordinate technical details with contractors, fabricators, millworkers, and specialty vendors
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for design intent, dimensions, materials, and coordination
  • Establish and maintain drafting and documentation standards
  • Guide and review intermediate and junior drafting staff
  • Support the design team with technical recommendations during design development and construction
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Proficient level of English, written and spoken
  • 8–10+ years of architectural or interior architectural drafting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • Strong knowledge of Revit
  • Extensive experience preparing detailed, construction-ready interior drawing sets
  • Expert knowledge of custom millwork, cabinetry, interior framing, finish carpentry, and finish applications
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, substrates, tolerances, attachment methods, and material transitions
  • Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and fabricators
  • Ability to independently resolve complex technical and constructability issues
  • Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and drawing coordination
  • Degree in architecture, interior architecture, architectural technology, or a related field is strongly preferred
  • Architectural licensure is valued but not required
  • Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and follow established processes
  • Ability to adapt to new systems and workflows
  • Professional, dependable, coachable, and accountable with excellent attendance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and standard business tools
  • Ability to work U.S. Eastern Time (New York) business hours and adapt to business needs
  • Reliable computer with Windows 10 or newer, two monitors, and stable high-speed internet
