Job Description
Senior SDET automating testing, deployment, and validation for Akamai's Kubernetes-based cloud platform. Building reliable test frameworks for distributed cloud and edge services.
Responsibilities:
- Work with engineering teams to identify how to test proposed changes
- Investigate and troubleshoot deployment-related issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions across various environments
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Create and maintain test plans and test cases for platform tools including Service Mesh, APIs, and Control plane
- Collaborate in integration testing with other engineering groups and suggest improvements to testing environments
- Investigate requirements for safe deployment and rollback strategies
- Verify deployment requirements during the deployment process
- Write and maintain scripts to automate platform service deployment
Requirements:
- 8 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Solid expertise in cloud native infrastructure
- Understanding of system internals and performance
- Experience building Kubernetes workflows and testing products built on Kubernetes platform
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, Github Actions, SaltStack
- Solid Linux fundamentals, especially around performance tuning
- Solid Bash and scripting fundamentals
- Deep knowledge of network fundamentals, including VRF, HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, and DNS
- Understanding of modern software development life cycle processes
- Understanding of service level objective monitoring and alerting
