Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building AI usage controls and cloud-native microservices for Akamai's enterprise security products. Developing endpoint enforcement and AI-powered capabilities across SaaS, desktop, and AI agents.
Responsibilities:
- Design advanced security controls to discover and manage shadow AI, GenAI, and AI agents across SaaS and desktop applications
- Own a mission-critical cloud-native microservice architecture safeguarding millions of workspaces globally
- Ensure high availability and reliability of enterprise cloud-native microservices
- Develop endpoint enforcement capabilities, including OS-level components for Akamai's endpoint agent
- Leverage AI frameworks and tools to build AI-powered security capabilities
- Work across the stack, from OS-level components to cloud backend services and React-based management console
- Collaborate with DevOps, Product Management, and Security Experts
- Rapidly release secure, scalable code multiple times per day
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, an equivalent technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Highly proficient in at least one of: Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Rust
- Hands-on experience in data modeling and relational databases
- Experience building complex data pipelines and high-throughput architectures using event-streaming technologies such as Kafka
- Experience developing cloud-native microservices using AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience building security products or client-side software running on end-user devices
