Job Description
Senior Software Engineer solving distributed-systems challenges in Apache Pinot for StarTree’s real-time analytics cloud. Improving performance, reliability, concurrency, and data infrastructure at massive scale.
Responsibilities:
- Own and drive impactful distributed systems problems end-to-end, from inception through production launch
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and prioritize impactful problems and projects
- Raise the quality bar across engineering while keeping systems reliable and operationally lean
- Mentor and grow engineers while learning from experienced engineers
- Solve distributed-systems problems involving performance, reliability, concurrency, and data infrastructure
Requirements:
- Strong distributed systems fundamentals and experience solving problems at scale
- Java experience is a plus, but not a hard requirement
- Ability to take an idea from concept through implementation and deliver it to production
- Deep ownership of quality and customer experience, with focus on reliability, observability, performance, and ease of use
- Adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and uncertainty with a constructive, problem-solving mindset
- Comfortable using AI tools in everyday engineering workflows and eager to continuously learn and integrate AI into building, debugging, testing, and problem-solving
