Job Description
Senior Staff AI Engineer researching autonomous agents and LLMs at iFood. Building scalable AI prototypes and validating emerging technologies for production impact.
Responsibilities:
- Research and validate emerging technologies before recommending them to other teams
- Build hands-on prototypes and AI solutions involving LLMs and autonomous agents
- Make cost-benefit decisions between traditional technologies, training LLMs, and using agents
- Design scalable system architectures with rigorous testing and experimentation
- Deliver iterative solutions that demonstrate measurable value within weeks or months
- Influence technology adoption without hierarchical authority over other teams
- Define replicable testing and validation methods for complex use cases
- Research, build, and validate AI and autonomous-agent concepts in iFood LABS, bridging research and production
Requirements:
- Strong foundation in software engineering and scalable system design
- Experience with traditional machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and autonomous-agent technologies
- Ability to move between academic research and production implementation
- High level of autonomy when navigating ambiguous and uncertain environments
- Hands-on approach focused on delivering practical, functional solutions
- Scientific rigor in conducting experiments and analyzing results
- Ability to exert technical influence without relying on hierarchy
- Previous experience in innovation units, labs, or R&D environments
- Publications or contributions to AI and ML technical communities
- Experience with iterative delivery and rapid validation of technical hypotheses
